Volunteer Position - Board or Committee Member

Department: Board of Directors

Hours: Part Time 20 hours a month

 

Board members participate in board meetings the 4th Monday of the month and participate in one or two board committees that support the affiliate in these areas: Partner Family Selection, Homeowner Support, Site Selection and Building Committee, Resource Development, Community Engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The basic duties, responsibilities, and tasks are as follows:

  • Support the Executive Director and Board with administrative responsibilities.

  • Works with the Finance committee and the Executive director regarding short and long-term strategies.

  • Participates in monthly board meeting and one or two committees

  • Promote and support the affiliate.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer skills in word processing.
  • Ability to analyze issues, determine priorities from our one and five year plans, and meet deadlines
  • Experience using Google and Microsoft Teams applications or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to commit time and financial resources in benefit of the affiliate's programs.

  • Passion for the nonprofit sector, social issues related to housing retention and building and the community at large.

  • Available for monthly evening board meetings.

  • Complete a criminal background check.
