Lebanon, September 9, 2025 – Lebanon Area Habitat for Humanity (LAHFH) will celebrate the dedication of its 31st home with a special ceremony on September 13, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. The event will celebrate the completion of a new residence at 30572 Ridge Street in Sodaville. Pastor Rick Pruett of New Beginnings Fellowship will offer the opening blessing. The newly completed, 1,540 square-foot home — with three bedrooms and two bathrooms — was built in partnership with CSC YouthBuild, staff, and volunteers and is now home to the McMahon family.

The McMahons contributed hundreds of sweat equity hours, working alongside staff and volunteers throughout the build. They also completed required homeowner and financial education courses. Habitat ensures that monthly mortgage payments do not exceed 30 percent of the homebuyer’s gross monthly income at the time of closing. Eligible homebuyers must meet income guidelines, demonstrate need for safe, affordable housing, and partner with Habitat through volunteer service and education., “We are thrilled to help open this new chapter in the McMahon’s lives and look forward to more new beginnings with future builds,” said Executive Director Tina Breshears.

Homes built by Lebanon Area Habitat for Humanity are sold to partner families at no profit, with mortgage payments funneled into a revolving fund to support future construction. The organization relies on a network of staff and volunteers and contributions from corporate sponsors, including Oregon Community Foundation, Simpson Strong-Tie, GAF roofing, Weyerhaeuser, Whirlpool, Gary Pope Designs, LLC, and IBEW Local 280, and the local community. These partners provide essential funding, labor and materials. Lebanon Area Habitat for Humanity is one of 23 affiliates operating in Oregon, with most serving rural communities.

As part of its ongoing mission to expand affordable housing and prevent displacement, LAHFH is preparing to build its next home on land donated by Sodaville, located on St. Louis Street. Individuals and organizations interested in supporting the project whether through sponsorships, material donations, or volunteer efforts can learn more by visiting https://www.lebanonoregonhabitat.com and completing the Volunteer Interest form.

Since 1993, Lebanon Area Habitat for Humanity has been building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
